The heroic WSLF freedom fighters and the Abyssinian black colonialist soldiers of the Mengistu regime engaged in fierce fighting between the villages of (?Bara Usbo) and Barrei in El Carre district, Bale region, on 29th August. The freedom fighters killed 45 enemy soldiers and set two lorries on fire while themselves sustaining only minor injuries.
