''Voice of Western Somali and Somali Abo Liberation Fronts''

 

 

In a clash at a place called (?Charle), 10 km from (?Tarrasi) in El Carre area of Bale region on 22nd March [see also below], WSLF freedom fighters killed 10 enemy soldiers and wounded many others as well as capturing 10 RVP-7 rifles and one AK rifle. The Somali Abo freedom fighters were also engaged in bitter fighting . . . at (?Banta) in Yirga-Alem district of Sidamo region on 21st March; they killed 25 enemy soldiers and wounded 40 others. The freedom fighters lost one martyr and another was wounded.(0930 gmt 28 Mar 81) In a clash in the town of (?Jaradi) in the El Carre area on 22nd March WSLF forces killed eight and wounded many more black Abyssinian colonialist soldiers. They also set two lorries on fire, destroyed three large tents and inflicted other heavy losses on the Abyssinian troops. In major attacks on civilians living in the Filtu area of Sidamo region on 25th March, Abyssinian . . . troops killed 70 and wounded 25 civilians and also stole 1,500 camels. In their brave resistance . . . the Somali Abo forces killed 100 and wounded many other enemy soldiers and also destroyed five lorries. Five armed Abyssinian soldiers surrendered to the Somali Abo liberation on 21st March. . . (0930 gmt 29 Mar 81) On 20th March in a fierce clash in the Nagele area of Sidamo region the Somali Abo fighters killed 40 Abyssinian soldiers and wounded many others. Two lorries were set on fire and other losses were caused to the Abyssinians. The Somali Abo forces lost four martyrs. In another encounter . . . on 27th March, at Masno, the Somali Abo killed 19 Abyssinians and wounded many others. In these clashes, the Somali Abo forces had the upper hand.
