Intense combat operations by Ogaden National Liberation Front [ONLF] forces have continued in the Ogaden. Heroic ONLF forces targeted Ethiopian military bases, especially key enemy centres, inflicting heavy defeat on weyane [Ethiopian government] troops from which they can never recover. The following is a report sent by Radio Freedom front-line correspondent on some of the battles:
On 29 July 2010, a unit of ONLF operating in Heybad, Nogob Province, carried out a heavy attack on weyane troops stationed in the locality. Ten colonial soldiers were killed and 12 others wounded in the attack.
On 30 July 2010, ONLF fighters mounted successive attacks against weyane soldiers who had come to Wijiwaja and Teyin, both located in Korahe Province, on a military mission against local civilians. A total of 11 soldiers were killed and many more wounded in the attacks.
On 31 July 2010, a heavy attack was carried out against weyane troops at a place called Warta Galolweyne, Korahe Province. Seven soldiers were killed and 12 others wounded in the attack.

On the same date, ONLF forces attacked weyane soldiers moving through Sangala, Nogbed Province. Twenty enemy soldiers were killed and 31 others wounded in the attack. ONLF forces also captured a large assortment of military equipment as remnants of the enemy troops scattered and fled in many directions.
On 7 August 2010, seven weyane soldiers were killed and 15 others wounded in a similar attack in Iskudholey, Korahe Province. On the same date, ONLF fighters carried out a well-thought-out raid on Karin Buseyti, Babile District, near Harer city, where the colonial Eastern Army Command is based, inflicting decisive defeat and destruction on them. Nineteen weyane soldiers were killed and 27 others wounded in the assault. The raid, which sent out a frightening message to bloodsucker [Prime Minister Meles] Zenawi, was part of attacks targeting major Ethiopian colonial military bases.
Additionally, army bases in Shilabo, Korahe Province, where weyane troops protecting the nearby Shehdin oil fields are stationed, were subjected to repeated attacks. Twenty-three colonial soldiers were confirmed killed and over 30 others wounded in the attacks. Because of these and other attacks, colonial troops vented their rage on civilians.
