Reports reaching the Ogaden Online Service Desk (OOSD) confirm a gruesome, extra judicial killing of a well known poet carried out by the Woyane (Ethiopian) militias in the town of Caado. The deceased poet’s name was Xasan Cabdulaahi Aadan-Sagal. He is well known throughout Caado and its environs.

He was killed inside the town on July 2nd. It is reported that the Woyane militias cordoned off the town for no apparent reason. They are said to then have started rounding up and threatening the locals with beatings and potential death.

As reported by multiple eyewitnesses, the deceased poet having heard a commotion outside came out of a house where he was staying. It is reported that members of the Woyane militias shot him dead on the spot without asking him a single question.

It is said that many of the civilians who witnessed this gruesome killing of the poet were overcome with fear given what they have witnessed. It is not known why the poet was killed, but it appears to be part of the atrocities that the Woyane militias perpetrate in many parts of Ogaden many times over.

As is reported by individuals who have personally known the deceased poet, one of his brothers, the late Cabdiqaadir Cabdulaahi Aaadan-Sagal, was killed by the Woyane (Ethiopian) militias two months ago. It is not yet known whether he was particularly targeted or he was one of the victims of the out of control Woyane militias who happen to kill Ogaden civilians on first sight.

The deceased poet has left in this world a number of children and their mother who are said to reside in the city of Wardheer.
