Reports reaching us from Yucub town, Dolo province say that Ethiopian troops based there have fled their camps after they could not cope with constant nocturnal attacks by Ogaden National Liberation Front [ONLF] forces. In response to the myriad troubles Woyanel troops have been visiting upon civilians, ONLF forces pounded the two camps housing Ethiopian soldiers and their puppet militiamen with heavy artillery guns every night, with the heaviest attack on the camps occurring on the night of 3 February. Our reporter in the area said Ethiopian troops were eventually forced to flee to Warder town after incurring massive personnel losses and destruction of the camps.

Wonderful news. Thanks a lot our heroes.
No matter how long it takes we are confident that ONLF will eventually succeed in kicking the Woyanes out and we will rightly enjoy the freedom which rightly is ours. Until then our unreserved support belongs to our beloved ONLF.
Now, go for the kill and thank you ever so much.

ONLF is leading a war of necessity and not a propaganda campaign. The social fabric of the Ogaden people is strong. Strong enough to differentiate the difference between kin and criminal. You see Mr. Mohamed for a social contract within any society to have any meaning criminals and traitors must be admonished for their unlawful acts. Sadly, this is what has been missing in Somalia for the last three decades and a concept that is not in the Somali psyche at present. A perfect example is why you are so perplexed about why we are fight our blood relatives at the helm of an institution that is implemented and run by our oppressors.
You don’t see the fact that the kilil 5 is run by abay sahye. All you see and care about is the kilil5 gatekeepers. You’re so caught up in the clan game that you don’t see them for what they are (political puppets), you don’t hold them accountable for the cruel action taken by them or under their name rather all you care about is whose clan are they from and your perplexed to see their next to kin fighting them for the atrocities and treacherous mischives they have committed.
Of course your ailment is understandable (after you could be a member of a Somali generation that has nothing but destruction) and your honest good demeanor is charitable but your naivety is astounding.

Every news event is "bullshit" depending on the perspective of the beholder.
That this news is bullshit for your appetite is not really an issue, but the claim that ONLF is incapable to defeat the Woyane forces is both ridiculous, absurd, and downright stupid.
Had the ONLF not been able to mount such attacks; they would've disappeared long ago. These attacks confirm--and are testament of--their (ONLF’S) actual capability to kick the Woyane behind, real hard. And What’s bullshit to you is music to our ears.
Your foul mouthing and denialism is an added recipe to our euphoric, victories news from the front line. If any, your whining is a confirmation of our success.

Well said.
That perverse psychology has been drilled and drummed hard consistently into Somali psyche of today that it became internalized as an acceptable social norm; a sort of barometer to gauge and value society.
A reputable learned Sheikh delivers an eloquent and inspiring religious sermon in mosque or some other place; immediately afterwards someone (many ‘ones’) begin to ask, “whose clan is the Sheikh’s?” This is the tragedy that has brought Somalis to their knees.
No wonder our fellow commentator uses it to measure our struggle.

I have come to work with ONLF fighters in various occasions. They are determined to drive Woyane forces out of the faces of Ogadenia and declare their independence.
Compare the population size of Tigray (3 million) with the size of Ogadenians and you will understand the capability of this unique breed. Above all they are all unified to one.
Glory to Ogadnians fighters and their martyrs!

Rallying around the possible capture of Yucub, a tiny town in a region that lacks basic necessity of live- water, tells you a lot about ONLF and its current caliber. ONFL refused to adopt and deal with the many challenges facing the it starting with changing the clan name which caused much harm. But now its too late for the entire organization is dwindling down to the history books. And as for Ogaden Online (ONLF official website) to write about such a fabricated tale of the capture of Yucub as if Degahbur or Whardeer was captured is ridiculous to say the least.
Actually the town has no military post and the closest Ethiopian army station is based in Danood. Even more the ONLF commander in the Doolo region, Rashiid Maydhax, was recently killed by the Liyuu police.
Anyways, I am not her to demoralize ONLF supporters, but I would like to advise Ogaden Online to not post so much baseless stories like this one at hand. For those of us knowledgeable about what is really going on back home, its hard to sit back and read everything you guys are writing when we know truth is far from such.

“...I would like to advise Ogaden Online to not post so much baseless stories like this one at hand”.
How is this news “baseless”? Do you have contacts on the ground that relayed to you that the claimed capture of Yucub town by ONLF forces is baseless? Or are you assessing things (since you’re, as you claimed, a “knowledgeable” person; someone “who knows about what is really going on back home”) on previous events when ONLF claimed to have captured towns which later turned out to be baseless. If so, can you kindly provide us with occurrences of such incidents when ONLF claims turned out to be baseless lies?

Ogadens make me laugh since 1890 they been talking about capturing "towns" from Woyane forces but still the war never ends nor do they have the land they claiming back. So this makes me wonder if you capturing so many towns why aint you FREE?
Every week they say they captured a town and we see nothing changing. ONLF lies to it's people and they are no more than 800 men in the jungles.
Even if they capture a town what can they do with the town? Who will run the town? Who will stay back to defend it? This is why ogadens dont have brain.
Let me guess your next week news is "ONLF captures Jigjiga".
I look forward to your next conquest, so many towns falling yet none free. cajiib. Caqli ogaden

A liberation army is an army on the march—always mobile and flexible.
An army that’s evasive, invincible; an army that chooses its battles, and after engagements, quickly melts into a landscape it knows best, like lions and hyenas for the forest. They carry the soil of their nation, marching—
For them, there’s no one single decisive battle, but a series of battles, always limiting their casualties.
In this way they inflict more and incur less damage. And the longer the conflict goes on the more experience they get, and the more perseverance, fortitude, and determination to attain their goal. In this way they become people “tested with fire,” to borrow the phrase from Eritrean freedom fighters, who do not later squander their freedom.
Our ONLF can tomorrow raid Jijiga and other towns, like the disastrous terrorist SNM misadventure of 1988, only to be merciless routed out and later find themselves in the barren lands of Qabribayah, refugees. But we are that foolish.
We’re too proud a nation; that even in our long nightmare and distress, the integrity of women is still intact. Our females are not the dancing girls of Gion Hotels; they’re from Hargeysa and Burco.
This is your first lesson today in the classic art of guerilla warfare 101.

hehehehe ogadens make me laugh, they call two nomads with two old rifles liberation arm, you cant compare your selve to SNM, SNM was 500 000 men, how many is ONLF? Masakiin you cant even mobilize 2000.
Keep the lies coming, how can you capture little towns in Ogadens when the Woyane soldiers passed you and beyond your little hide out forests they are operating inside Somalia (Bay, Bakol and Hiran), forget about your little villages.
Everyone knows the reality.
Ethiopia is 88 million, by 2015 they going to hit above 100 million, and they economy will become the most important economy in East Africa, they already passed Kenya, this means more powerful, more investment attracting Ethiopia which means more modern army and more powerful.
Ogadens lost their opportunity because they failed to mobilize, talk about the reality, unit and take responsibility.
This is the problem with ogadens.
1: lies (every thing is lie), we liberated this, we captured this, and the people think they are actually liberating so why join, in reality they achieving ZERO.
2: They blame their problems on others (in particular Somaliland because originally ogaden was part of British Somaliland but some isaaq along with British signed them away under the Anglo-Ethio treaty however they preserved the 400sq km land known as Haud)
3: Ogadens dont even have politicians, they think lying and issuing some bullshyt letter on human rights will free them.
4: Nomads (no out side connection)
5: No bases for them to operate (Eritrea cant afford to host them Ethiopia will invade Eritrea)
All these combined = dumb nomads.
We will continue to do business with Ethiopia, business is business and we cant afford to choose 5 million ogaden nomads over 100 million ethiopians.
peace

Beyond you apathetic indifference to our suffering and struggle I find traces of reason and understanding of where you’re coming to us. I regard you as an intelligent person whose priorities are misplaced. Some people may dismiss you as an enraged individual with some issues; but I don’t.
I also happen to think that you’re not from the place you claim to be from, NW Somalia, “Somaliland”
Going back to the topic. Talking about the economics of scale, you pointed out Ethiopian’s place in Africa in terms of its population size and predicted that soon it will become the “most important economy in East Africa,” basing your analysis and projection solely on its’ population size and nothing else as an indicator that will fuel that country’s economic growth. This is old high schools economics, and if you fellow it too much, it will mislead you.
You seem to have forgotten the principle of ‘supply and demand’. Ethiopia supplies little to the outside world and its huge population is made up of illiterate, underdeveloped, peasants who’ve little to offer--and consume--except occasionally beg for assistance from donor nations. Ethiopia is one of few countries that have their budgets directly funded by donor nations in order to offset and balance their huge shortfalls and fill the gap. This is a dependent economy. There is no production worth of mention also. In terms of demand, there is not that much potential also. If you’ve India’s middle class IT fueled economy in mind, you’re mistaken. And little “Somaliland” has nothing to supply to Ethiopia. The more sophisticated Djiboutians have filled that space.
Regarding the above, you wrote, “we cant afford to choose 5 million ogaden nomads over 100 million Ethiopians,” swapping with money over principles of commonly shared Somali ethnicity, religious values, and Daqan. I wish to remind you that China is a huge economy that supplies a lot of things to the US, buys their toxic debts, and loaned them over two trillion. Yet the Americans have forsaken China for little Taiwan. (The recent US sale of arms to Taiwan, in blatant defiance of Chinese concerns, is testament to this.) The Americans have also forsaken the entire Arab world, with their large population and oil resources, for Israel.
Some things are more precious than commodities, my friend. Peace and Somalinimo brother.
