my friends i can go on mentioning the cruelty and attrocities this little man has caused our people but i am all about action and getting things done. the question we all need to ask our selves is, what can we do to alleviate the suffering of our people?. my grandfather always said "a thief never steals while he is watched". what can we do to stop the daily attrocities inflicted on our people?. we are not powerless, we are not backwards, we not afraid and certainly we are not going to backdown. we can do alot to bring attention to the genocide commited against our brothers and sisters.
first of all for us in the US we need to contact our congressman and senators on a daily basis, if you cannot get a hold of him leave him or her a message. their secretaries listen to messages and tells them about how many people called and what was each caller asking or complaining about. you can go to your congressman or senators local office and setup an appointment to talk to your congressman. you actually can and have the right to meet your congressman and senator. all you need is an appointment, seriously i am not making this up. that is when your congressman is in town. all congressman and senators have a local office. if you take ten of your friends the better to show him that you are not alone and you have alot of voters and taxpayers that this issue is bothering. tell him or her about the size of the somali community and tell him you will vote for him or against him depending on how he served our interest. remind him of norm coleman how he lost with only 234 votes. take with you are short well written letter of the situation in the ogaden and tell him what you expect the united states government to do. your are a tax payer, you pay for his salary, he works for you and you can vote him out of office depending on how many people you take with you to the polls. convince your friends and neighbors to join the effort and let them call the their congressman and senators. the more people calling the better. I have met my congressman and discuss the situation in ogaden, i am planning to meet my senator soon. if i met my congressman any man or woman can. the life of our people depends on it. this thief [meles] if he is being watched he can't kill our people. please write your senator, call him, or setup an appointment and meet him, tell him about what our people are going through and tell him you will campaign for him or against him depending on his actions on this very urgent situation in Ogaden.
here is the phone number for the white house 202-456-1414 call and ask for your senator or congressman. you will get transfered to him or her.
just take few minutes out of your busy life and do something for your people. i guarantee you, you will feel good about yourself in knowing you at least did something for your brothers and sisters in ogaden.
a nation can not unshackle it's self from colonialism without the active participation of it's citizens. you are a citizen of ogadenia. please do your part and may be one day you can raise your kids or grand kids in free and independent ogadenia. you can tell them that you took part in liberating your great country. my friends, it is this generation [us] that history will judge 20 or 30 years from now.
