The Birjeex health experts, part of the Ogaden National Liberation Army, ONLA, have recently concluded a medial seminar for new medical recruits that lasted thirty days. The objective of the training was the teaching of first aid training to the new recruits who are expected to provide first aid response to both ONLA members wounded in the battlefields as well as the Ogaden citizenry who may have been wounded by Woyane militias.
One of our reporters who was present throughout the training indicated the importance of the first aid knowledge for as many ONLA members since the
Ogaden region lacks even basic medical facilities.
One of the ONLA medical experts leading the training who was interviewed by our reporter also emphasized the need for this type of training. This health expert added that many times it is the Ogaden populace in many remote towns and even cities who need and take advantage of ONLA expertise especially in first aid response.
