FARGO - Demonstrators gathered outside the Federal Building in downtown Fargo Wednesday to raise awareness about genocide and starvation in the Ogaden region of Ethiopia.
Organizer Abdikarim Rabi says the Ethiopian government is blocking critical food supplies from reaching millions of people. He also says women are being raped and citizens are being tortured. Rabi says he believes the problem could be solved if President Obama issues a plea to the Ethiopian government.
The Fargo protest was one of several around the country. Other demonstrations were scheduled in Minneapolis, Denver, Dallas and Los Angeles.
