Dozens of civilians killed in many parts of Ogaden

Our reporters throughout Ogaden continue to report extra judicial killing sprees and mass detentions carried out by the Ethiopian military and its associated militia throughout Ogaden. In almost every Ogaden city our reporters detail killings in broad daylight as well as mass detentions of Ogaden civilians.

In one such killing, on June 26, 28 and 30th 2011 the Ethiopian military killed five civilians in the villages of Darasalaam,Haarcaan and Caleen.

The names of the deceased are:


1. Ilkacase Cabdi Hudle
2. Samsam Sheekh Axmed (Young teenage girl)
3. The son of  Cali Daruus  (E don’t have his first name)
4. Cabdiqaadir Caydiid Xasan Weyd
5.  Daahir Nuur

On July 5th, 10th and 13th  the Ethiopian army and its associated militia murdered four civilians in the villages of Garbo, Labadaran, Dhabanya and Kuus Cawl which are all part of Nogob province

The names of the murdered civilians are

1. Khadar Faarax Labi known as Jabane
2. Muxumed Shukri Hiirad, also knowns as Deegaan
3. Faruur Xassan Nuur
4.  Cumar Mataan Faaruuq:

Our senior reporter in the area indicates that this gruesome act on the part of the Ethiopian and its associated militia follows recent failures in the battlefields that these militias have encountered in the hand of the Ogaden National Liberation Army (ONLA).
