Reports reaching the Ogaden Online service desk confirm the extrajudicial killing of a respected traditional leader named Cabdiqaadir Barre Guure in the village of Lehelow by the Woyane (Ethiopian) militias and their associates on Thursday March 10, 2011. Lehelow is about 53 Kilometers South West to the city of Wardheer. A number of eyewitnesses who were present in the town confirmed that the respected octogenarian elder was well liked and respected businesman. His Son Cuuke Cabdiqaadir Barre was killed by the Woyane (Ethiopian) militia in 2007, he was only nurse in the area.
This is indeed a tragic news and yet another incident of a long list of extra judicial killings that the Woyane militias are responsible for. It was just last week when Woyana Milita gunnned down Suldaan Xasan Xuseen Mataan in the village of Shinbirray, near Qabridahar.Reporters in the area indicate that there appears to be a renewed Woyane focus on traditional leaders as if the Woyane decided that punishing the innocent civilians would somehow make get the upper hand of the ever increasing, and successful, war waged by members of the Ogaden National Liberation Army (ONLA).
