The University’s web site says this about Meles:
Under the seasoned governmental leadership of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, now in his fourth term, and vision of the Tigrai Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) and Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), Ethiopia has made and continues to make progresses in many areas including in education, transportation, health and energy. – Source
It’s unbelievable that such a description about one of the world’s most vicious, corrupt, incompetent tyrants is posted on a prestigious American university’s web site. Only a hired lobby firm such as DLP Piper can come up with such a lie. The truth is that under Meles Zenawi and his tribal TPLF junta, most Ethiopians not only live in abject poverty, they are also being brutalized and systematically starved.
This invitation is a cruel insult against Ethiopians who are being brutalized by the fascist dictator.
Columbia University may not know who Meles Zenawi really is, so this is a good opportunity for Ethiopians around the world to educate them.

Isn't that a little bit a paradox for us. I feel it is. The man we hate and dislike being accepted by western people. Don't we need to pause and think what is going on. Don't we need to start thinking "Have I been mislead and holding the wrong picture?" Well it is up to us! These people like in Columbia University have long ago started discovering the human nature and, more than that, the space we are defined in. We should give credit to that! we shouldn't think that they can easily be manipulated! Because they know ! What do you think when your baby boy or girl try to convince you something he or she want to do, but you know that it is something not good for them. Well I feel sometime that we are like those innocent boys and girls. let's listen and try to expand the horizon of our knowledge. The world we are living in is not ours. Tomorrow we are not here. So, why not we use our time reasonably. Meles weather we like it or not has got acceptance. Why? Well like the fathers and mothers know what is good for their children, the westerners also have seen something in him that would be beneficial for the poor people of the Ogadeni brothers and the whole people of Ethiopia. Give credit to their long past and experience. They were like us sometime in the past.

Point is stop complaining!!! Just because one person ruled the country for too long doesn't make him a dictator or anything like that.
Dueces !
