Ethiopia uses $2.3 Million aid money for Lobbying

E-mail Print PDF

Ethiopia uses aid money for Lobbying and weapons while its people are hungryAccording to ForeignLobbying.org, a web site run by ProPublica and Sunlight Foundation, Ethiopian dictator Meles Zenawi's regime has so far paid $2.3 Million for Lobbying.

The database lists 908 contacts made between March 2007 to October 2008. The issues range from Ethiopia press coverage, to materials related to U.S. election perceptions in Ethiopia.

The money has been used to make sure the U.S. Congress doesn’t pass any law that requires the Addis Ababa regime improve its human rights record for the U.S. assistance to continue.

See here for full list of contacts made by lobbyists on behalf of Ethiopian government.
