The ONLF uses harsh tones toward the UN and the Security Council in particular, which is described as “lackadaisical is looking after the local people’s right to self determination” and “deaf” toward calls to defend the rights violated by the Ethiopian government. The movement, formed in the early 90’s by some members of the Somali minority in Ethiopia, the movement demands secession and the region of Ogaden; the military repression to which it has been subjected in the past few years has caused Addis Abeba to be criticized from human rights groups, claiming that the troops have perpetrated crimes against civilians.

Let us not kid ourselves about the "Conspiracy of Silence" against the Somali People in Ogaden. The world has no interest in helping a muslim people against a christian and dictatorial regime regadless of the severity of the crimes against humanity. Our history with the amhaars has been full of "International conspirators" who, in the hour of defeat came to the rescue of the christian Ethiopia. Let there be no doubt about the resilience of the Ogaden People that the cries of their daughters and mothers will be avenged for by the selfless warriors of ONLF. Keep up the struggle and the day of freedom will set upon the land of Ogadenia. Love one another and unite against the common enemy. That is the only way the amhaars will taste defeat and death.
