Huge Anti-Woyane Protest Greets Ethiopian Delegation in Dallas

E-mail Print PDF

Dozens of Ogaden, Oromo and other ethnic Ethiopian communities in North Texas demonstrated outside the venue where a delegation said to be visiting from Woyane regime in Addis Ababa was holding a meeting.

Waving the Ogaden National flag, the protestors chanted "Meles belongs at the Hague for trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC), Woyane, your days are numbered”. Members of the Ogaden community accused Meles Zenawi’s regime of committing genocide in the Ogaden.

Hours before the meeting was to start, Oromo, Afar and Ogaden community members who have succeeded in obtaining a legal permit to protest in and around the meeting venue, have gathered. They appeared to be well organized. Many of the community members were dressed in Oromia and Ogaden national attires from head to toe.

The protesters had microphones and sound amplifiers that reached the hotel and its surroundings. While the protesters numbered in the hundreds – some estimates put the number at 350 – the meeting attendees were, in the best estimate, said to number no more than 50 individuals.

The Ogaden people are fighting for self-determintion. Extra-judicial killings, rape, disappearances, destruction of livelihood and the displacement of thousands of Ogaden people are the dialy norm in Ogaden.

There is constant fighting between Ethiopian troops and ONLF forces in the Ogaden region. Human rights organizations accuse the Ethiopian soldiers of violating the human rights by harassing the people in the Ogaden region.

Are you stupid? Why are the Nationalist ONLF who never wanted to be part of Ethiopia somehow terrorists? Somalis never wanted to be part of Ethiopia, yet you complained to Britain that it is your land when it was Somali land and still is Somali land. We will not back down til we get independence. Narrow minds only exist in the brains of Amhara and Tigray people like you, who believe people that have been occupied somehow now wanna be part of your country, we dont want to. We fought you and most of the times, yet somehow because you always need help from other countries you get help and take our land. VIVA Ogaden.
You have a narrow mind, thats 100% sure, you believe in one ethiopia, when there is no 1 ethiopia, there is no ethiopia.
Stupid woyane, how can a person with a functioning brain believe in oppressing people and believing in woyane, biggest mistake ethiopians (habesha are only ethiopians) ever made.

I rather deal with the present regime that can rationally address issues than with a bunch of hoodlums who does not even understand the basic issues of what a nation is.
If you think you represent the people that you are trying to rule, as that is the ultimate game here, please tell us how you are communicating with them, and the last time you set foot at the place where they live.
Every sole wants to be a king and the result of that is witnessed in Eretria.

^What the hell are you talking about? Go back to school and read about your countries history. If you wanna be a king, be a king over Habasha land, the only real Ethiopians are Habasha, the rest doesnt want nor going to be Ethiopian. Eritrea was the first nation to subdue the colonial lines of Western countries. You didnt conquer Ogaden, you cried like babies infront of Britain to gain Eritrea and Ogaden the same way you are now crying today to get food aid. Without aid from USA, Ethiopia would crumble into smaller states within a year.

Did you say the attendees were not more than 50 and the protesters over 350? I was there protesting and what I hate is lying! If you don't speak the truth now, you will never be better than the woyane later. The FACT is there were about 30 protesters and over 800 attendees. That does not mean anything but we don't have to lie.

May I remind the uneducated reader that Ethiopia Ogaden was part of Ethiopia long before the Italian Invasion, not forgetting that Harar is Harari and not Somali by the way, and also that Britain was forced out of Ethiopia after the end of the war, and that Ethiopian diplomacy gave Ogaden and The port o Assab which were rightly Ethiopian. Now all the filthy people living on those lands are at best guests, Ethiopian lands to Ethiopians. Extermination for the rest. The rest are just flies, gangrene of society. Now ask yourself this, if we Ethiopians are the "barbarians" you describe how is it Ogaden reads Ethiopia on maps, and what do you think of a people who can't get rid of "barbarians..." Well let me help you here, "Primitive..."
