It was not long ago, thirteen years to be exact, that few individuals with very little but with an endless can do spirit gave us the Ogaden Online news web site. Today, this news site is one of the leading news websites in the African continent.
It is a sought after source of original and timely news to many reputable organizations and to the common man from the Horn of Africa region or anyone with interest in the goings on in the Ogaden conflict.
Given the daily, monthly, and quarterly statistics of the unique visitors to the site, its editorials and front line news reports from inside the Ogaden have also become a magnet of repeated visits from the headquarters of the Woyane terrorists led by the current Ethiopian premier Mr. Meles Zenawi both in Maqele and in Addis Ababa.
Unique visits from Internet Addresses (IP) which the Ogaden Online information security specialists have traced back to the EPRDF and Ethiopian premier’s offices now account for close to 10 % of the site’s daily and monthly unique visitor list.
It is testament to the quality of the reporting and the threat such verifiable reports pose to the ambitions of Woyane terrorists in Ethiopia that Ogaden Online is now a widely read news site by the very individuals and establishments that are hell-bent on hiding the truth of their genocidal actions in the Ogaden.
While we, the Ogaden Online Editorial Board, OOEB, understand that the million plus unique visits the site receives daily did not come about simply by its existence, but we do know that it is all thanks to the site and its tireless cadres of volunteer reporters who provide the content that make Ogaden Online such a success story.
We thank all the Ogaden Online volunteers. We salute their bravery and courage in confronting the Woyane terrorists’ propaganda and misinformation while providing, sometimes, painful news reports from the Ogaden frontlines.
